JORGINHO wants to give Arsenal fans a special season finale after signing a new contract with the club.
The Gunners midfielder joined from Chelsea in January 2023 for £12m on an 18-month contract with the option to extend.
And after months of talks with his current contract due to expire this summer, the 32-year-old Italian international has finally put pen to paper on a fresh deal.
SunSport understands it is another short-term agreement, believed to be a one-year deal with the potential to stay for a further 12 months.
Jorginho has made 51 appearances in all competitions in North London so far – an essential cog in Mikel Arteta’s side challenging for the Premier League title for two campaigns on the bounce.
Arsenal are top of the Prem with two matches remaining – one point above Manchester City who have a game in hand.

With this year’s race with City going down to the wire, Jorginho said: “I feel I can and I want to give more to the fans because they’ve been giving a lot of affection and support to me.
“All I want is to give it back. I feel I have more to do.
“I want to win as much as I can. We are enjoying [this season] because it’s a beautiful journey. It’s a special moment, a special thing we’ve been doing.
“We need to push and enjoy the moment, every single day. To be where we are, we worked hard, we need to be proud and trust what we’re doing and believe it.”

He added: “I’m really, really happy to stay. It is a privilege to be a part of this family.
“I felt part of something big straight away. Everyone here can count on me. I will always be there for them.”
The extension for Jorginho comes as Arteta and Sporting Director Edu plot another summer overhaul, with midfielder Thomas Partey’s future up in the air with 12 months left on his contract.
Jorginho also joins the likes of Takehiro Tomiyasu, Ben White, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Magalhaes, Gabriel Martinelli, Martin Odegaard and William Saliba who have signed new deals over the past 18 months.
Arteta said: “Jorgi is such an important part of our team.
“A role model with great leadership skills and a unique playing style ability which makes everybody better around him on the pitch.
“We’re all excited to continue this journey together.”

Edu added: “He represents what we stand for here at Arsenal with his professionalism and success as we continue building to be better and stronger.”
Arsenal go to Old Trafford to face Manchester United on Sunday before hosting Everton on the final day, while City have Fulham, Tottenham and West Ham still to play.
