ITV in broadcast blunder just moments before Jude Bellingham’s stunning equaliser for England against Slovakia

EAGLE-EYED fans spotted an error on ITV just moments before Jude Bellingham rescued England with 85 seconds left.

The Three Lions will face Switzerland in the quarter-finals next Saturday after a dramatic comeback saved Gareth Southgate’s job.

England were booed off at half time by their own supporters as they trailed Slovakia in their last-16 tie.

Then they looked set for an embarrassing exit before Bellingham’s brilliant overhead kick in the 95th-minute sent the game to extra-time.

However, some viewers noticed something amiss when the fourth official held the board up to signal how long would be played.

The assistant referee signalled for six minutes of additional time as England chased their equaliser.

But ITV, whose cameras nearly missed a Slovakia wondergoal, incorrectly stated on their screen, next to the clock in the top left corner, that it would only be five before realising their error and changing it.

“Who are these clowns,” blasted one confused viewer, while another asked: “ITV, is it five or six?”

Within seconds of the additional half hour, Southgate’s men had turned the game completely on its head as Harry Kane pounced to make it 2-1.

And, remarkably, that is how it ended as the Three Lions survived by the skin of their teeth.

ITV commentator Lee Dixon was then left flabbergasted as Slovakia’s Juraj Kucka escaped a red card with things looking grim.

That was until right at the death when Bellingham’s moment of magic produced a goal with England’s first shot on target.

And Kane’s header meant that England had the lead courtesy of their only two shots on target.

Nevertheless, England are now through and can start planning for the Swiss next weekend.

They secured their place in the last-eight by defeating holders Italy 2-0 on Saturday night.
