JARRAD BRANTHWAITE and Anthony Gordon have been called up to the England squad for the first time.
The Everton star could be given a chance to stake his claim for a place in the Euros squad in upcoming games against Brazil and Belgium.
Defensive injuries have opened the door for new options, while Liverpool star Joe Gomez has earned a recall to the squad.
The versatile defender has not featured for the Three Lions since 2020 but has impressed this season for the Reds.
Jurgen Klopp pleaded with Gareth Southgate to call up the 26-year-old after he starred in the 1-1 draw with Manchester City, and Gomez has been called up despite his sketchy England past, having clashed with Raheem Sterling in training in November 2019.
Southgate revealed he considered Ben White but the Arsenal star told him he does not want to be considered for the England squad at present.
Chelsea star Sterling misses out once again with Southgate favouring West Ham talisman Jarrod Bowen and Gordon, who does have an injury problem.
The forward has five caps to his name but faces big competition for his place with Bukayo Saka and Cole Palmer fighting for the right-wing spot.
Palmer has been called up for the second time after scoring 11 goals in 24 Premier League games for Chelsea this season, while also providing eight assists.
The Three Lions have plenty of depth in attack with Southgate set to call upon Phil Foden, Marcus Rashford, Ollie Watkins and captain Harry Kane.
