FURIOUS Tottenham stars Cristian Romero and Emerson Royal had to be separated at half-time of Sunday’s clash at Liverpool.
The incredible scenes came as Spurs trailed their hosts 2-0 at Anfield and sparked memories of Son Heung-Min’s infamous fight with Hugo Lloris in 2020.
Goals from Mo Salah and Andy Robertson put Liverpool in total control on Merseyside.
And tempers spilled over between Romero and Emerson as they made their way off the pitch for the break.
The two defenders began barking at each other following Tottenham’s lapses at the back.
Their shouting starting to escalate as Micky van de Ven watched on with a concerned look.

But goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario came to the rescue as he broke the pair up.
The Italian got between Emerson and Romero before wrapping an arm around the latter and pulling him away.
It’s unclear if Ange Postecoglou was aware of the situation while taking the half-time team talk.
At full-time he said: “They care.

“I hate to think that they’re skipping into the tunnel holding hands.
“They care and that’s a good thing.”
But Spurs stars’ passion was not enough to rescue any points at Anfield, despite a late fightback.
Richarlison and Son both scored after Cody Gakpo and Harvey Elliott’s second-half strikes to finish the game 4-2.

It’s not the first time two Tottenham players have clashed on the field.
Four years ago, captain Son and then-skipper Lloris had a sensational bust-up at half-time during Spurs’ 1-0 win over Everton.
The pair had to be split up as Lloris chased after Son on the field.
But then-manager Jose Mourinho dismissed the incident and even declared that he had “loved” their passionate display.
