Former Premier League star and England wonderkid, 31, joins tenth club of career as he heads to INDIA on free transfer


FORMER Stoke and West Brom striker Saido Berahino has joined the TENTH club of his career – Indian second division side Rajasthan United.

The 31-year-old once scored 14 Premier League goals for the Baggies in the 2014/15 campaign.

He also played 12 times for England U21s and was named in a senior squad by Roy Hodgson in 2014 but did not play.

Berahino has spent much of the last five years outside of English football, featuring for Belgian sides Zulte Waregem and Charleroi and most recently Cypriot outfit AEL Limassol.

In the middle of those moves he also spent one season in League One with Sheffield Wednesday, scoring nine goals in 36 games.

Now he has moved out of Europe for the first time after penning a deal with Rajasthan ahead of their new season.

Berahino scored 23 goals in 105 Premier League appearances for West Brom.

During his time at the Hawthorns he had loan spells at Northampton, Brentford and Peterborough.

He then joined Stoke in 2017 but failed to score in any of his 28 Premier League games for the club, before he netted three in 23 in the Championship.

His departure came in 2019 before he began his spells in Belgium and Cyprus.

Berahino also declared for Burundi in 2018 and has been capped 18 times for the East African nation, scoring two goals.
