Fans love ex-Man Utd star Cavani’s ‘class act’ as heartwarming footage of him with rival debutant emerges


FANS have hailed Edinson Cavani’s heartwarming moment with debutant Lautaro Elias.

The former Manchester United star faced Elias as his current team Boca Juniors beat Almirante Brown in the Copa Argentina.

Boca Juniors ran out 2-1 winners with Cavani, 37, getting on the scoresheet to net the eventual winner.

After the game, Cavani was asked by Elias, 19, to swap shirts at the end of the match.

The Uruguayan was happy to swap with the youngster and asked for his in return.

However, Elias was keen to keep hold of his having just made his debut for Almirante Brown.

Cavani completely understood and let him keep his before giving him a congratulatory hug.

Fans loved the wholesome moment on social media.

One posted: “What a man. Would have loved to seen him play live during his stint at United. He was quality in the Covid seasons.”

Cavani left Man United in 2022 after a two-year spell in England.

He joined Valencia but only stayed at the LaLiga club for one season before joining Boca Juniors in 2023.

The striker has since played 35 games for the Argentinan outfit, scoring 16 goals including a spectacular overhead kick.
