Liverpool beat Sheffield United to return to the top of the table and are now two points ahead of Arsenal.

The Gunners had leapfrogged their title rivals with a home win over Luton on Wednesday.

Reporting on Liverpool’s win, Omaar said: “To sport now and the tussle for the Premier League title is still as close as anything after Liverpool returned to the top of the table.

“They beat bottom club Sheffield United 3-1. Alexis Mac Allister got the goal that turned the game, so Liverpool are, regrettably, two points clear of Arsenal.”

Jurgen Klopp’s side are also three points ahead of third placed Manchester City with eight matches remaining.

However, Arsenal fan Omaar’s comments were met with criticism on social media.

One supporter wrote: “Wow, that is shameful.”

Another added: “Oh I’m sorry, I forgot it was the Arsenal news at 10.”
