Fans don’t know what to do with themselves after noticing change to Premier League schedule

FOOTBALL fans don’t know what to do without any Premier League clashes at 3pm today.

Only half of the sides in the Premier League are in action this weekend with a new look schedule leaving fans wanting more.

Gameweek 21 has been split across the space of two weeks with one half of the league playing this weekend and the other half taking to the pitch next weekend.

It comes with the introduction of a winter break following the gruelling festive schedule in England’s top flight.

The changes mean there are no 3pm kick offs for the next fortnight and it has left fans wondering what to do with themselves.

One took to social media to write: “This Premier League winter break is worse than anything, worse than those international breaks full of boring fixtures. I speak for everybody when I say we want proper football back ASAP.”

While a second added: “This Premier League winter break is a bit stupid.”

A third joked they didn’t know what to do with themselves after Saturday’s early kick off between Chelsea and Fulham ended.

They wrote: “No 3pm kick offs in the Premier League today… what do we do now?”

However some fans are pleased with the changes and praised the Premier League’s decision.

One wrote: “Wow the Premier League actually innovating. No 3pm kick offs, all games on TV for people in the UK and still doesn’t take away from the EFL/local teams!”

There’s still plenty of action for fans to get their teeth stuck in to though with heavyweight clashes across the league.

Newcastle United host Man City this afternoon before Manchester United face off against Tottenham on Sunday.

The regular schedule will return with the next round of fixtures taking place between January 30 and February 1.
