EDDIE HOWE is a leading contender to replace Gareth Southgate if he steps down as England manager.
The Newcastle boss has been tipped to take over for several months.
The FA are keen on hiring Howe following his impressive work with Bournemouth and Newcastle, qualifying for the Champions League with the latter.
Howe is one of the favourites to take over but the FA would need permission from Newcastle to speak to him about the job.
While an expensive compensation package would need to be agreed between the two parties.
Howe is thought to be one of three leading candidates to succeed Southgate, should he resign.
