Denmark 0-0 Serbia LIVE SCORE – Euro 2024 – Danes and Serbians battle for last-16 spot in crucial Group C clash

DENMARK and Serbia are both in the run-in for a Euro 2024 last-16 spot – and TONIGHT will be the decider on what team goes through along with England.

The Serbians chances of making the knockout stages were looking very slim when Slovenia took a 69th minute lead in their last outing.

However, Luka Jovic’s 95th minute equaliser kept Serbia’s Euro 2024 dreams alive.

Group C is perfectly poised as all teams can still throw their hat in the ring for the last-16, and it’s hard to call who will make it through.

  • Questions will be asked back home

Serbian fans will not be pleased that their side fell at the first hurdle once again in a major tournament.

Impressing in qualifying as usual, they just struggle to make the grade at major finals.

Despite all their attacking talent, they could only muster a single goal in the entire group stage.

  • Danes finish group unbeaten

Despite only amassing three points in their four games, Denmark finish second in the group and make the knockout phase.

They will focus on the positives, with the main one being remaining unbeaten against Slovenia, England and Serbia.

Denmark will face hosts Germany in the ’round of 16′.

  • Eriksen frustrated in final game

Denmark’s talisman tried to unlock this Serbian defence with his range of passing but just could not find that killer pass for the goal they craved.

He also had their best chance of the game in the first half when his shot from the edge of the box was well saved by the Serbian keeper.

One thing is for sure, Eriksen will know that his side have to up their game when it comes to the next round.

  • Goals in short supply in Munich

This was not a game that kept the keepers busy by any stretch of the imagination.

The draw, along with other results, means that Denmark finish second in Group C.

England top the group but their goalless draw with Slovenia could see the minnows go through as one of the best third-placed sides.

Having qualified for their first Euros, they are now staring down the barrel of the knockout phase.

  • FT: Denmark 0-0 Serbia

Serbia only have themselves to blame for their exit from Euro 2024.

They have only scored one goal in the group and despite what was required tonight, only registered one shot on target in the game.

Denmark’s performance will not be scaring many sides but they did what they had to here in Munich.

  • FT: Denmark 0-0 Serbia

The referee brings the game to a close.

Denmark advance to the next phase, Serbia are going home.

In what was a drab match, the Danes get the job done.

  • Denmark 0-0 Serbia

90+4. Tadic looks to swing a ball into the box but no one is attacking it.

Schmeichel takes it into his chest and falls on top of the ball fratefully.

  • Denmark 0-0 Serbia

90+2. Novak Djokovic is in the crowd watching tonight.

Most of us wish we were watching him play tennis than this game.

The ball is played to Milinkovic-Savic on the edge of the box but his side-footed effort is straight at Schmeichel.

  • Denmark 0-0 Serbia

    90. Serbia are launching long balls towards the Danish box.

Tadic plays it towards Vlahovic, who flicks it towards goal.

It has too much height on it as it loops over Schmeichel’s crossbar.

We are going to have five additional minutes.

  • Denmark 0-0 Serbia

    88. As the corner comes in, the keeper tries to punch clear but misses it.

Weirdly, the referee awards Serbia a free kick but as the replay shows no Denmark player made contact with anyone.

This referee would not look out of place in the Premier League.

  • Denmark 0-0 Serbia

    86. Maehler gets to the byline and lifts a teasing ball into the back post.

He almost caught out the Serbian keeper but it is bundled behind for a Danish corner.

A goal this late on would not only secure Denmark’s progression but they would also top the group as it stands.

  • Denmark 0-0 Serbia

    84. The referee books Mitrovic for his reaction.

As the replay shows, there was a pull on the Serbian’s shirt but nothing that would cause him to go to ground.

Serbian tempers are flaring as time runs out now.

  • Denmark 0-0 Serbia

    82. The Danes clip another cross into the box but they just do not have anyone attacking the ball.

Serbia counter and as they look to play the ball into Jovic, the quality is poor and it is behind him.

Mitrovic goes down in the box demanding a penalty.

  • Denmark 0-0 Serbia

    80. Dolberg is just get muscled off the ball time and time again.

Big chance for Serbia at the other end as it is laid off to Mitrovic in the box but he tries to bend it in the far corner and gets it all wrong.

Mitrovic should be at least working the keeper from there.

  • Denmark 0-0 Serbia

    78. Hjulmand and Bah come off for Kristiansen and Delaney.

Denmark are looking to get control of the game back now.

Since the Serbian substitutions they have come into the game far more.

  • Denmark 0-0 Serbia

    76. Time is starting to run out for the Serbs.

The other game in the group is still goalless, meaning Serbia are rooted to the bottom of the table.

Denmark in possession are still in no rush and happy to pass the ball around.

  • Denmark 0-0 Serbia

    74. This is a more end-to-end game now.

Serbia are having to throw bodies forward in search of a goal.

This leaves them more open at the back for Denmark to counter.

  • Denmark 0-0 Serbia

    72. This could well be Tadic’s last tournament match for Serbia if they exit the tournament tonight.

He has been a great servant for Serbia during his career.

Dolberg goes down in the box under pressure, looking for a penalty, the referee is not interested at all.

  • Denmark 0-0 Serbia

    70. Serbia are starting to put the pressure on now.

Having that extra forward up top has put Denmark on the back foot a little more.

As Serbia looks to swing a cross in, it is headed behind for a corner.

  • Denmark 0-0 Serbia

    68. Vlahovic comes on for Ilic.

Stojkovic is making his last roll of the dice looking for this win.

Technically, they have three strikers on the pitch now.

  • Denmark 0-0 Serbia

    66. Denmark continue to pass the ball around.

Once again they look to shoot from outside the box but it goes miles over the crossbar.

Denmark are shooting like stoomtroopers this evening.

  • Denmark 0-0 Serbia

    64. Denmark force another corner.

Eriksen plays a good ball in and finds Westergaard who has a free header.

His effort is straight at the Serbian keeper, he should be doing far better from there.

  • Denmark 0-0 Serbia

    62. Serbia come forward once again but the crosses are easily dealt with.

They have really lacked quality in their delivery this evening.

That said, Denmark have not really shone in this area either.

  • Denmark 0-0 Serbia

    60. This game isn’t likely to feature in a highlights reel of Euro 2024.

We have had lots of late goals spark games into life, we can only hope that it happens here.

Neither side is asking much of the opposing keeper in this half.

  • Denmark 0-0 Serbia

    58. Hojlund is coming off for Dolberg.

Denmark looking for some fresh legs in the final third.

With just over half an hour remaining, this is still anyones’ game.
