Gallagher completed his long-awaited £34million move from Chelsea on Wednesday.

He has penned a five-year deal with the La Liga side through to the summer of 2029.

It comes after the deal had looked set to collapse after Chelsea’s move for Atletico star Samu Omorodion fell through.

However, after returning to England, Gallagher jetted back out to Madrid this week to complete the move, with Joao Felix re-joining the Blues in a separate deal.

Diego Simeone’s side began their campaign on Monday as they twice came from behind to draw 2-2 with Villarreal.
