Chelsea icon slams board for ‘destroying club’ before claiming team have ‘nothing in their brains’ after Burnley draw

CHELSEA hero Frank Leboeuf has ripped into co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali and accused the board of “destroying the club”.

The Blues sank to a dismal 2-2 draw with Burnley at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, despite the Clarets going down to ten-men in the first-half.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side twice grabbed the lead against Vincent Kompany’s side, only to be pegged back on both occasions by their relegation-battling opponents.

Chelsea were once again greeted by a barrage of boos upon the final whistle, with the result keeping them languishing in the bottom half of the table.

After the game, fed-up Blues icon Leboeuf told ESPN: “Sorry, but the people on the board have destroyed this club.

“That’s what you have to face. How do you rebuild that? I don’t know, it’s going to take a long time.

“I’ve talked about it a lot and I’m fed up repeating myself… as long as you don’t have people to rely on, meaning experienced players, you can’t build anything.

“This is what you face when you’re trying to build an academy team.”

Having launched a scathing review of the club’s ownership, Leboeuf, 56, then took aim at the players.

He fumed: “The Chelsea players have no stamina, nothing in their heart, nothing in their brain, they don’t know what to do.

“It’s unprofessional and unfair to the people who love this club. I’m fed up.

“Ten-men Burnley should have won the game. Chelsea Football Club against Burnley… that’s the end of it.

“I want to congratulate the fans for still being able to go to Stamford Bridge to watch that.”

Following their latest setback, Chelsea remained 11th in the Prem table.

After the game, a disgusted Pochettino said: “That is why I’m so upset and disappointed. It’s more here (in the heart) and here (in the head) than in your legs. It’s about being strong like a group, strong like a team.

“We are too slow evolving in this area. That was the key today. The team played well, we had energy. When we have the ball, we go forwards.

“But when we didn’t have the ball, we don’t have the same energy. Today, sorry, I am not happy with the performance when we don’t have the ball.

“It’s difficult to accept not to win. It was a must-win game to be in a position to attack.”
