PEP GUARDIOLA was left smiling after Manchester City’s man of the match against Newcastle was announced.
Phil Foden was confirmed as the award winner over the tannoy as City won 2-0 to reach the FA Cup semi-finals.
His reaction left BBC commentator Guy Mowbray congratulating pundit Danny Murphy.
The former England midfielder had chosen Foden as his man of the match at the Etihad Stadium.
After spotting Guardiola’s smile, Mowbray said: “Little bit of a smile on the face of the Manchester City head coach. You’ve done well Danny Murphy.”
Foden was on form for City once again as they eased into the last four on Saturday evening.
The 23-year-old is enjoying an impressive season this term, scoring 18 goals and providing 10 assists across all competitions for City.
However, it was Bernardo Silva on the scoresheet against Newcastle as he grabbed both City’s goals.
Guardiola’s side now join Coventry in Sunday’s semi-final draw, which will take place after Manchester United vs Liverpool.
The winner of Chelsea vs Leicester will complete the semi-final line-up for next month’s Wembley showdowns.
