ARSENAL fans have slammed Aston Villa as “muppets” after they gifted Manchester City a goal with a schoolboy error.
The Gunners are currently embroiled in a title race with City and Liverpool.
While Arsenal saw off Luton Town 2-0, rivals City took on Aston Villa.
Rodri had given the Citizens the lead before Jhon Durán equalised for the visitors.
A City draw would be a big boost to the Gunners, however Phil Foden restored the lead from a free-kick.
The England international did not even need to go over the Villans wall as the ball squirmed through the defender and past Robin Olsen into the goal.

A fourth said: “Not sure how a wall breaks apart this way at this level. I’d be livid if my JV team did this.”
Another added: “I’d be fuming at that wall.”
To make matters worse for Arsenal fans, Villa went into the game having to make a late change as Emiliano Martinez missed out due to illness.
Man City had their own concerns however as Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland were both dropped by Pep Guardiola.
