LIVERPOOL legend John Barnes has written off Arsenal’s title chances.
The Gunners are yet again in contention for the crown having agonisingly missed out to Manchester City last season.
Arsenal at one point were seven points clear at the top before a loss of form towards the end of the season finished their title hopes.
Mikel Arteta’s troops have been on a brilliant run of form of late, unbeaten in the league since the start of the year.
Despite two convincing away wins against West Ham and Burnley, Barnes is not convinced by Arsenal’s title challenge.
Speaking on Premier League Productions, Barnes believes that his former team can still challenge for the title.

He said: “Liverpool for me are the closest challengers because there are certain games where Liverpool haven’t played well but have got a result.”
Barnes thinks that Arsenal still struggle to win matches whenever they are not at their best.
He believes that it is a two-horse race between Man City and Liverpool this season.
Barnes added: “Arsenal have to play well to win and if they don’t play well they may not win, and that is why as much as they’re doing well I still think it’s between Man City and Liverpool.”

Arsenal are still in the race for the title only two points off top spot.
Their title hopes were given a boost as City dropped points to Chelsea over the weekend.
Despite this, City still have a game in hand and don’t play Arteta’s side until the end of March.
With 13 games to go, Arteta will be looking to galvanise his troops to win their first title in 20 years.
