TYSON FURY has been told to take a long hard look at himself in the mirror by Carl Froch after praising Jake Paul’s fight with Mike Tyson.
YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul and heavyweight icon Tyson are to collide in a controversial clash on July 20 in Texas.
Tyson will be 58 by the time the fight for the ages comes around and nearly 20 years removed from his last professional bout.
So his comeback – which is not yet confirmed as a sanctioned fight or an exhibition – has come under criticism by the likes of Froch amid safety fears.
But current world heavyweight champion Fury argued the fight for the ages is “fantastic for boxing”.
That drew a furious response from Froch, who told Instant Casinos: “No, it’s not good for boxing.

“For Tyson Fury to say that it’s good for boxing… he needs to look in the mirror, have a look at what he’s done, have a look at what professional fighters do and what they go through, and then think to himself, this is Jake Paul, a performing clown jumping in there with a 57-year-old man, who is a legend and an icon in professional boxing.”
Tyson retired in 2005 but did return in 2020 for an exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr, which ended in an eight-round draw.
Meanwhile Paul is 9-1 as a boxer who suffered his only defeat to Tyson’s brother Tommy in February 2023, but has won three since.
Froch, 46, retired in 2014 after knocking out George Groves in front of 80,000 at Wembley but admitted he would return to fight Paul.

He said: “He’s an absolute f**king idiot for fighting Mike Tyson. It’s wrong. It should be stopped.
“Listen, I hope Tyson goes in there for 30 seconds, unleashes hell on Jake Paul, flattens him, and does boxing proud.
“Jake Paul’s been dead disrespectful as well in his build-up. He’s been biting ears off and trying to mimic Mike Tyson and copy him.
“I just don’t find it funny. If he had any bollocks about him, he’d fight me, wouldn’t he? I’d love to punch his teeth down the back of his throat.”
