Canelo turned up with his family and greeted the scores of adoring fans eager to get their hands on tacos.
And after cutting the ribbon, the Guadalajara gladiator made sure to have some of the tasty tacos on offer.
Canelo hasn’t fought since his September showdown with Puerto Rican pounder Eder Berlanga.
He dominated the then-undefeated Berlanga for 12 rounds to retain his WBA, WBC and WBO 168lbs belts via unanimous decision.
Canelo’s next outing will likely take place on Cinco de Mayo weekend in Las Vegas.
A blockbuster fight with former undisputed welterweight champion Terence Crawford has been mooted as a possibility.
