According to L’Equipe, the French tactician was approached by the American national team but he stated he is not interested in the position.

The USA manager hotseat is vacant after Gregg Berhalter’s contract expired at the end of last year.

US Soccer has launched an investigation involving Berhalter after the World Cup.

Danielle Reyna, mother of Borussia Dortmund ace Gio and wife of legendary American Claudio, shared information of a 31-year-old domestic violence incident involving the former manager and his future wife, Rosalind.

The Reynas were unhappy with the head coach detailing how an unidentified player was nearly sent home from the US’ World Cup camp for not meeting expectations.

To many it was a clear reference to Gio, who later confirmed it in an Instagram post the next day.

Prior to that, Berhalter released a statement claiming a third party had contacted the federation during the tournament in Qatar threatening to “take down” the head coach.

The 49-year-old admitted he committed the “shameful” act of kicking his wife when he was 18 years old.

The American and US Soccer confirmed there is an active investigation into the matter.

Meanwhile, Zidane has also reportedly turned down bids from Brazil as well as Portugal, who are also without a manager after the departure of Tite and Fernando Santos respectively.

The Real legend is not interested in managing a national team other than France.

But that won’t happen any time soon as the French federation awarded current manager Didier Deschamps with a contract extension that will see him stay until 2026.

Zidane’s former team-mate Deschamps has led Les Bleus to three major finals and one World Cup title during his 11-year stint in charge.
