‘World’s most beautiful footballer’ Ana Maria Markovic hobbles on crutches as she steps up recovery after injury


THE “world’s most beautiful footballer” Ana Maria Markovic has shared a photo of her with her two “new best friends” following her injury.

The gorgeous Croatian broke down in tears this month as she revealed she has been forced to “say goodbye to football for a long time”.

Markovic, 23, suffered a nasty-looking knee injury while in action for Grasshopper – and was visibly emotional as she was treated by medics on the field.

The 5ft 5ins forward then shared two gut-wrenching photos of the agonising incident on Instagram while revealing the extent of the damage.

She wrote to her 2.4million followers: “I don’t know where to start…

“Unfortunately I got injured at the last game and will now have to say goodbye to football for a long time.

“It hurts so much and still can not believe it.

“All who know me, know that I have a very strong personality and that I will come back even stronger…

“Thank you all for the support… I will need it in the next few months even more.”

Now she has followed that up with two snaps of her on crutches attending one of her club’s matches, which she captioned with: “New best friends.”
