WOLVES are eyeing up a move for Nico Elvedi if midfielder Matheus Nunes leaves this summer, according to reports.
Earlier this week, the club rejected a £47m offer from Manchester City for Nunes.
Wolves are weighing up a move for £8million-rated long-term target Nico Elvedi in the final week of the transfer window.
But the Premier League side may need to sell Matheus Nunes in order to finance the deal.
Wolves signed Nunes on a five-year contract last summer, paying a club record £38m to Sporting Lisbon.
Man City’s initial bid of £47m was rejected by Molineux chiefs, who value the Portugal international at around £65m.

If nobody meets that valuation, Nunes will stay put and boss Gary O’Neil will have little room for manoeuvre in the market.
Elvedi, 26, has always been Wolves’ top target in central defence.
The Swiss is in the final year of his contract at Monchengladbach and has declined a new deal.
But the Bundesliga club are determined to hold out for a double-digit millions offer.

However, Wolves will have to wait for City – who are reportedly preparing to table an improved offer for Nunes.
The chances of a second bid have increased now that Pep Guardiola’s side have ended their pursuit of West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta.
City are having to deal with losing Kevin De Bruyne for four months due to a recurring injury.
Wolves beat Everton 1-0 despite being second best at Goodison Park on Saturday.
