ANDY ROBERTSON appeared to be elbowed by a Premier League linesman during Liverpool’s clash against Arsenal.

As the half-time whistle blew, linesman Constantine Hatzidakis appeared to strike the Scotland captain in the throat.

Referee Anthony Taylor booked Robertson after the half-time whistle following the bizarre situation.

The officials were crowded by a swarm of Liverpool players led by the Scot and captain Jordan Henderson.

And astonishigly Hatzidakis struck out and ‘elbowed’ the Scotland captain.

During half-time Sky Sports reporter, Geoff Shreeves claimed that Robertson was furious as he entered the tunnel, accusing the official of “elbowing him in the throat”.

Roy Keane took a different view of the situation and called Robertson a “big baby” and told him to “concentrate on his defending”.

The Irishman said: “He should be more worried about his defending. Do you know what he is? That Robertson, I’ve watched him a number of times. He’s a big baby. That’s what that guy is.”

Hatzidakis returned for the second half despite being accused of elbowing Robertson in the first half.

The PGMOL has released a statement on the alleged elbow from Premier League linesman Constantine Hatzidakis on Andy Robertson.

A statement read: “PGMOL is aware of an incident involving assistant referee Constantine Hatzidakis and Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson at half-time during the Liverpool vs Arsenal fixture at Anfield.

“We will review the matter in full once the game has concluded.”
