Pep was born on January 18, 1971 in Santpedor, Spain.
He spent the majority of his early football career playing as a defensive midfielder with Barcelona.
His career saw the young Pep win a number of Spanish league titles and went on to play for both Roma and Brescia in Italy.
He also played for Qatar, Al-Ahli and Dorados de Sinoloa in Mexico before retiring from being a player and moving into management.
