It has been a far from perfect season for the French club but with top quality stars leading their attack, special moments to lift the mood are always possible.

This was the case against Angers as PSG grabbed two goals in the opening 30 minutes to take a comfortable lead.

Mbappe grabbed the first from close range before being set up beautifully by Messi for the second.

The 35-year-old picks up the ball in his own half and meticulously scans the field ahead of him.

The Argentine then suddenly pings a left-footed pass that wipes out the entire Angers defence and allows Mbappe to confidently stride onto the ball.

The Frenchman expertly takes it beyond the keeper and sweeps it home for his 22nd league goal of the season.

Fans were beside themselves at the brilliant pass.

One said: “What an assist from the GOAT” before adding that Messi was the “God of assists.”

Another said: “Messi is a joy to watch.”

While another added: “What a pass from Leo Messi. GOAT things.”

The win put Paris Saint-Germain 11 points clear at the top of the table but things are far from rosy at the Parc des Princes.

Speculation surrounds the future of manager Christophe Galtier after the club’s early Champions League exit, while he has also been accused of racism. He denies the allegations.

Meanwhile, Mbappe has hit out at a club promotional video that barely featured his teammates and Messi’s future in France is far from certain with the star being linked with a Barcelona return.
