THOMAS TUCHEL has admitted he made a “strange” comment when expressing his love for his Bayern Munich team.
Bayern were thrashed 3-0 by Manchester City in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final.
However, Tuchel had a quite peculiar point of view on the game and his team’s performance.
He told Prime Video: “Of course, the result is bitter for us.
“I fell in love with my team a little today, the way they performed. Even if it sounds strange, that was a lot of fun.
“I think our players were lacking a bit in confidence and form.”

Individual errors and mistakes did not help the German team as they were punished with goals from Rodri, Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland.
Following up his “strange” profession of love for his new team, ex-Chelsea boss Tuchel insisted they performed well until the 70th minute.
He added: “I don’t agree with the result at all.
“We were punished in phases in which we were the better team. We were simply brutally punished today.

“I thought our performance was very good until 2-0.
“I don’t want to talk down the result – I saw a very good performance until the 70th minute.”
Tuchel was appointed by the club after they sacked Julian Nagelsmann over the international break.
However, they have since been knocked out of the DFB-Pokal and are now on course for Champions League elimination.
The reverse leg in front of the Bayern fans will take place on April 19.
