Supercomputer predicts final Premier League after Man City thrash Arsenal and it’s sickening viewing for Arteta & Co

A SUPERCOMPUTER has predicted the final Premier League table – and it appears to confirm Arsenal have blown their title chances.

Manchester City’s 4-1 win over Arsenal turned ugly at the final whistle as both sets of players came to blows last night.

But things look like they are going to get a lot grimmer for Mikel Arteta and his side after that crushing defeat.

City’s win moves them to within two points of Arsenal with two games in hand.

The reigning champions also maintained their push for the treble as they prepare for a Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid and FA Cup final against Manchester United.

But according to boffins at Five Thirty Eight, they already have the title in the bag.

Using a host of stats to work out the probability of the remaining fixtures, they have predicted what the final Premier League table will look like.

And they believe that it will be Pep Guardiola’s team that will be sitting five points clear at the top ahead of second-placed Arsenal come the end of the campaign.

And they believe it will be joy for both Man United and Newcastle too with both predicted to make the top four.

Liverpool’s recent good form is predicted to continue, with them tipped to grab fifth and a Europa League spot, while Brighton are set to seal Europa Conference League football by finishing sixth.

Meanwhile, it all gets a lot tighter down at the bottom.

They predict that bottom club Southampton will pick up six more points, but that will not be enough to stop them from remaining in their current position.

And Everton are predicted to be going down with them in 19th place, finishing three points ahead of the Saints with a total of 33.

But they have also worked out that it will be Nottingham Forest that joins them in the Championship.

They say that Steve Cooper’s side will collect a total of 34 points this term , which would see Leeds united pip them for survival by one point.
