SUNDERLAND star Jack Diamond has today denied rape and will now stand trial.
The footballer, 23, is accused of attacking a woman on two separate occasions at a home in Tyne and Wear.
He had previously denied sexual assault at a different hearing, and has now pleaded not guilty to rape.
Diamond will now stand trial in the Newcastle Crown Court on January 2 next year.
The player, of Fatfield, Washington, had his conditional bail extended.
Lincoln City, where he had been on loan, terminated his loan stay.
