The relegated club have already snapped up two former Swansea players, with Ryan Manning joining on a free transfer and Flynn Downes arriving on loan from West Ham.

Now they are going further, with a £15million double deal in the offing for Wood and Piroe.

Swansea are expected to want closer to £20m for the pair.

Dutch striker Piroe has just one year left on his contract but there has been talk of a new deal being offered.

The 24-year-old scored 20 goals in all competitions under Martin last season and would be considered the ideal replacement for Che Adams on the South Coast.

Adams is a £15m target for both Everton and Crystal Palace.

The Toffees remain in talks with Southampton, but there are concerns from the striker over their start to the season.

The Scotland international has three goals in three games for the Saints so far this season, with the club having rejected a bid from Bournemouth earlier in the window.
