FRANK LAMPARD and John Terry led the tributes as “Tubes” became the latest big-name Sky Sports broadcaster to depart in a huge shake-up.
Tubes, aka Soccer AM presenter Peter Dale, announced his exit on Instagram “after 21 and a half years” saying: “It’s been class.”
Sky commentator Martin Tyler is also leaving, with iconic tunnel interviewer Geoff Shreeves pondering his future after reportedly being asked to take a hefty pay-cut.
In all, six of the company’s 13 football reporters are departing their positions, although some have gone voluntarily and others might be reassigned.
Chelsea legend Lampard responded to Tubes’ exit message with: “You’ve been more than amazing there. Talented and a great lad. Always a pleasure to work with. Wishing you all the best mate💙 .”
And Lamps’ former Blues and England team-mate Terry wrote: “What a LEGEND what a guy, love ya mate and good luck with your next chapter.”
