JEFF STELLING has been left heartbroken after his beloved dog Stan died.
The Sky Sports legend announced the passing of his companion on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Stelling, 68, revealed in his post that Stan had passed after losing his health battle despite them trying “everything”.
The former Soccer Saturday host posted a picture of Stan looking out at a rainbow on a beach with a tennis ball in front of him.
In Stelling’s heartfelt message, he shared a story of how Stan would “welcome” everyone into their home and was “never aggressive”.
Stelling wrote: “Heartbroken today. Stan lost his battle.

“For 12 years he gave us unconditional love.
“He was never aggressive, even with our cats, and welcomed everyone with a Croc in his mouth and a furious tail wagging.
“We tried everything but in the end there was nothing left we could do.”
Stelling’s son, Matt, added: “The best boy we could have ever hoped for, heartbroken doesn’t even cover it.

Stelling announced that Stan had fallen ill last week as he wrote at the time: “Tonight guys you can support as many teams as you like.
“I don’t care.
“I don’t care much about football tonight tbh.
“My best mate for 12 years Stan is tonight fighting for his life in hospital.
“I know some people will think it is pathetic but right now he is all I care about.”
Stelling’s vacant role at Sky Sports was filled by Simon Thomas.
