Shellshocked fans joke ‘what did I miss?’ as Tottenham are completely destroyed by Newcastle in first-half meltdown


TOTTENHAM fans have been left shellshocked after a disastrous first-half display against Newcastle at St James’ Park.

Spurs conceded a staggering FIVE goals from the Magpies in less than 20 minutes and social media have come alive.

Jacob Murphy opened the scoring just two minutes after kick-off and Joelinton doubled Newcastle’s lead only four minutes later.

Murphy completed a brace just three minutes later and practically blew the North Londoners out of the water.

It was then Alexander Isak’s turn to score a double within two minutes after first beating Hugo Lloris in the 19th minute.

Rival fans rushed to Twitter to pour some salt on Tottenham’s wounds after a horror start.

Another posted: “Good Team That Tottenham Hotspur.”

A third wrote: “Ok Genie, my second wish is for the Tottenham half time team talk to be sent to everyone’s phone.”

This fan said: “We might be rubbed but we will NEVER be Tottenham bad.”

And that one stated: “Banter club.”

Tottenham fans, though, didn’t hold back as they slammed the team’s horrendous display.

Some even called for swift action that would include the immediately release of players and interim manager Cristian Stellini.

This fan tweeted: “This is the most embarrassing thing I have ever seen.”

That one wrote: “Sack the lot of them now.”

A third said: “Conte was right… we’re a walking L.”

Another stated: “COWARDS. Get rid of everyone,”

And that one commented: “Sack Stellini at half-time.”
