Jurgen Klopp’s side led 2-0 and were flying high in the first half before numerous defensive lapses stunted their progress.

A win for Real would make it their fourth consecutive success over Liverpool in the competition, following the 2018 final, 2021 quarter-finals and the 2022 final.

Liverpool, however, have made a habit of mustering miraculous comebacks in the Champions League.

And they’ll be full of belief that they can do it all again as they travel to the Bernabeu.
