MARCELO was overcome with emotion after helping Fluminense win the Copa Libertadores.
The former Real Madrid left-back, 35, joined his boyhood club in 2023, following a brief stint with Olympiacos.
The Brazilian began his career with the Rio de Janeiro side, when he joined as a youth player aged 13.
After making his debut in 2005, he soon joined Real Madrid in 2007 and became a Los Blancos legend – winning LaLiga six times and the Champions League on five occasions.
But, despite all his success in the game, clearly nothing could compare to being a part of Fluminense’s groundbreaking success.

German Cano put Fluminense ahead, before Luis Advincula equalised in the 72nd minute.
Neither side were able to force a late winner, and the game went into extra-time.
John Kennedy’s 99th minute strike was enough for Fluminense to win their first ever Copa Libertadores title.
However, he was sent off for jumping into the stands celebrating what turned out to be the winner.

Both sides finished the game with 10 men, with Frank Fabra’s red evening up the teams after he SLAPPED a rival player.
Marcelo played 80 minutes, before he was subbed off.
And when the final whistle blew on proceedings, he defied his years by running onto the pitch to celebrate with his team-mates.
With teams streaming down his face, it was obvious what it meant to Marcelo.
Fans couldn’t help but share in his joy.
With the game still in action, one wrote: “Look how much this means to Marcelo. Fluminense need to win this game.”
