RAHEEM STERLING could face a ban for appearing to throw a missile into the crowd during Chelsea’s win over Tottenham.
The Blues winger was spotted in Chelsea’s OWN social media post throwing an object towards the stands during the celebrations for Cole Palmer’s equaliser.
The footage shows an object thrown towards the players striking the leg of Palmer after he had slotted away his spot kick.
But it also appears to show Sterling then sending the object back where it came from which was a section of the crowd full of Spurs supporters.
The Daily Mail have reported that the FA are aware of the incident and are investigating it to see if any further action needs to be taken.
Nothing was spotted by officials on the day, but Sterling could still face a punishment if he is deemed to have broken any rules.
