The Rebels still managed to win their following match against Guiseley 3-2 after a late penalty.

The victory came without the help from Grant, who instead turned out in front of 68 fans.

He is now playing for Litherland REMYCA FC, who play two divisions BELOW the Rebels in the North West Counties League Premier Division.

Grant and Litherland lost their first game together as they were beaten 4-3, without the striker getting on the scoresheet.

He is a former EFL and National League star having turned out for the likes of Wrexham, Rochdale, Scunthorpe and Fleetwood Town.
