Newcastle fans say ‘it’s safe to say we’re COOKING’ after stars steal the show in Euro U21s tournament


NEWCASTLE fans are getting excited by watching their young stars at the U21 Euros.

Anthony Gordon was in good form for England’s young lions while incoming Italian midfielder Sandro Tonali also impressed.

Gordon netted England’s opening goal in their second group match against Israel with a header.

This means that he had contributed to two goals in two games following his assist in the 2-0 win against Czech Republic on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Tonali, though not a Newcastle player yet, looked equally impressive in Italy’s game.

He bagged his second assist of the tournament as he set up Lorenzo Pirola to open the scoring from a corner.

Newcastle are expected to sign the exciting midfielder in the coming week as they prepare for a season with Champions League football.

And fans are very excited at the prospect of seeing the youngsters in the team together in the upcoming campaign as they took to social media.

One tweeted: “Sandro Tonali with an assist for the second consecutive time in two games for Italy and Anthony Gordon with two goal contributions in two consecutive games also for England.

“It’s safe to say that Dan Ashworth and Eddie Howe are cooking.”
