MANCHESTER UNITED sent scouts to watch Porto play, according to reports in Portugal.
Porto beat Gil Vicente 2-1 with Ivan Jaime and Eustaquio scoring their goals.
And they did so in front of United officials, Lisbon-based paper A Bola report.
It is claimed no player in particular were on the scout’s radar.
But officials were said to be there spying ahead of the January transfer window.
Erik ten Hag’s side were heavily linked with Porto keeper Diogo Costa as they looked to replace David de Gea in the summer.

But they ultimately ended up signing Andre Onana for £47million from Inter Milan instead.
So it could be unlikely that they were keeping tabs on Costa.
United have suffered injuries at left-back this season with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia out injured.
They signed Sergio Reguilon from Tottenham as cover but it is possible United were scouting Porto’s Wendell.

Another Porto player in-demand is striker Mehdi Taremi, who has been linked with Chelsea, Tottenham and United in the past.
Taremi – who scored against England during the winter World Cup – has two goals in his seven games so far this season.
United did add to their firing line in the summer with the £72m signing of Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta.
