MANCHESTER UNITED transfer target Victor Osimhen has revealed he underwent facial reconstruction surgery and had a mask specially designed for him after suffering a horror injury.
The Napoli striker is enjoying a fine season in Serie A, with the team on the verge of winning the title and they are into the Champions League quarter-finals.
Osimhen has donned a face mask throughtou this season after he clattered into Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar last term.
Opening up on his issue, Osimhen told L’Equipe: “With Skriniar it was like receiving a blow to the face.
“Ten minutes later, I got up and was taken to the hospital.
“The doctor asked me how I could continue standing. I didn’t want to have surgery, but they had to reconstruct my face.

“They passed through my mouth, it was very complicated and for two months I had a part of my head as if asleep.
“Little by little, and thanks to the doctors, everything returned to normal.
“They invented a mask for me and the side that protects my wound is very hard. I’m not afraid anymore”.
Dr Gianpaolo Tartaro, who worked on player, previously said: “The orbital bone stopped just in time because Osimhen could even have lost his sight.

“That bone could indeed have caused other problems, but fortunately some factors helped us and the eye was able to go back into its socket.”
Osimhen has been linked with a move to United this summer.
Manager Erik ten Hag views signing a striker as a priority with him and Tottenham’s Harry Kane the top choices.
However, both are expected to have £100million-plus price tags slapped on them.
