LUKE SHAW was the best of a band bunch as Manchester United were beaten by West Ham to stretch their winless run to four games.
Erik ten Hag’s side never got going at the London Stadium in the Premier League fixture.
Man United and West Ham were only able to muster one good chance each in what was a flat first half.
But the Hammers came alive in the second half and were helped out by an error from Andre Onana.
Jarrod Bowen took advantage of the goalkeeper’s hesitation to put the hosts ahead.
Mohammed Kudus then wrapped up the result with a brilliant finish that Onana got nowhere near.

Andre Onana – 4
Another Onana slip-up to send United fans into Christmas.
The Red Devils keeper failed to smother Bowen after the winger had been played in by Lucas Paqueta and the West Ham winger gobbled up a cheap opener.
Made a decent stop from Emerson Palmieri early on but struggled on the ball under pressure from West Ham’s forward line.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 6
Kept West Ham’s Brazilian star Paqueta relatively quiet throughout, but the former Crystal Palace man offered very little going forward.
There were too many occasions where the right-back picked up the ball down the right and instead of pressing on decided to turn and bass backwards.
Jonny Evans – 6
A few hairy moments on the ball at the back but should be forgiven for his part in West Ham’s second goal.
Tried his best to coach 19-year-old Willy Kambwala through his debut while also trying to cope with the pace of West Ham’s forwards.
Willy Kambwala – 6
An impressive enough full debut for a teenager thrown into a shambolic Manchester United team.
Had little to do during a quiet first half but was sharp early after the break to block well from Paqueta.
Luke Shaw – 7
Managed West Ham star Kudus well in the first half and tried to push forward when few others were.
Continued trying to get things moving after the break and was easily United’s most threatening player in the West Ham half, which says a lot about those ahead of him.
Kobbie Mainoo – 5
Failed to control a simple ball from Evans in his own half which was happily grasped by the Hammers to hand them a second.
Struggled to get a grip on the game from the base of the Manchester United midfield three.
Scott McTominay – 4
So often Manchester United’s surprise saviour, the Scot was completely absent here.
While Tomas Soucek and James Ward-Prowse were cancelled out, McTominay offered little in terms of creativity.
Antony – 5
Ineffectual once again. Watching Mohammed Kudus, Erik ten Hag will have wished he bought a different winger from Ajax.
Antony tried and failed to pull a few moves off in a terrible first half from all, but vanished after the break and was replaced.
Bruno Fernandes – 4
Almost entirely marked out of the game by West Ham’s Mexican midfielder, Edson Alvarez.
The Manchester United captain was reduced to cynical fouls and pot shots from range for most of the afternoon.
Alejandro Garnacho – 6
One of the only Manchester United players to break into a run in the first half, should perhaps have done better with a couple of efforts on Alphonse Areola’s goal.
Rasmus Hojland – 4
Largely starved of chances but when given the ball struggled to control it and was marked easily out of the game by West Ham man Konstantinos Mavropanos.
Things got no better after half time with the summer signing lasting just 11 minutes before being hooked off by Ten Hag.
Substitutes
Marcus Rashford (On for Hojland, 57 mins) – 4
Brought on to add some life to United’s attacking play but his struggles continued, though hardly helped by his hapless teammates.
Facundo Pellistri (on for Antony, 73 mins) – 5
Harsh to expect any real impact on such a shoddy performance from the youngers, who barely got a kick.
