MANCHESTER UNITED beat Wolves 2-0 at Old Trafford to boost their Champions League hopes.
United needed a win over Julen Lopetegui’s side after third-placed Newcastle’s surprise 2-2 draw at Leeds.
Anthony Martial opened the scoring after 32 minutes when Bruno Fernandes played Antony through and the winger brought Wolves goalkeeper Daniel Bentley off his line.
The Brazil international then found Martial who scored in front of open goal.
United sealed the win in the fourth minute of stoppage time with Alejandro Garnacho after a wonderful assist by Fernandes.
The Red Devils are now fourth in the Premier League table with the same points as the Magpies.

But who stood out and who struggled for Man Utd? SunSport’s Neil Custis rates every single player at Old Trafford:
DAVID DE GEA – 6
Thankfully for him Wolves didn’t have enough up front to test his nerves after a blunder last time out against West Ham.
AARON WAN-BISSAKA – 7
Consistently on-form in the second-half of this season both in defence and going forward.
VICTOR LINDELOF- 7
With recent injuries to both Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez, Lindelof has had to step up and he has done just that.

RAPHAEL VARANE – 7
Returned after a month out and brought his usual calm assurance with him to the back four.
LUKE SHAW – 7
The handball at Brighton was an unusual error from the England international who has barely put a foot wrong at least of late.
CASEMIRO – 5
Seems to have gone into his shell since the second of his red cards this season. Gave the ball away twice when not under any pressure in the first half.
CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN – 5
Like Casemiro he has gone a bit quiet. Not dictating games like he did in the first half of the season.

ANTONY – 6
Set up Martial’s goal but wasted two great opportunities of his own not least a point blank header.
BRUNO FERNANDES – 8
Was all action himself while too many around him were static. Always looking for an an opening and found one thanks to Garnacho’s movement, putting him through on goal to score.
JADON SANCHO – 5
And still United fans wait for the player that thrilled everyone when he was at Borussia Dortmund. Simply not involved enough, although did pull a good save out of Dan Bentley in the second-half.
ANTHONY MARTIAL – 6
Couldn’t miss the chance laid on a plate for him but not active enough upfront and understandably eventually subbed. United desperately need a number nine.
SUBS:
WOUT WEGHORST (On for Martial 69) – 5
Sent a chance with a header over. Just not good enough for United.
FRED (Eriksen 82) – 6
Added a bit of urgency to the midfield.

HARRY MAGUIRE (Varane 82) – 6
Got a vital block in from Adama Traore’s dangerous driven cross late on.
ALEJANDRO GARNACHO (Sancho 82) – 7
Back from injury after eight weeks out and what a way to return as he slotted home the second goal in injury time.
