Man Utd and Tottenham told to fork out huge transfer fee for David Raya with star ‘refusing to sign new Brentford deal’


BRENTFORD have reportedly set their asking price for wantaway goalkeeper David Raya.

Spain international Raya is refusing to sign a new deal with the Bees despite two offers being put on the table for him.

Raya told The Athletic: “I turned down two contracts, one last year and one this January.

“They weren’t the offers we were looking for. I can only say that.”

The 27-year-old’s contract expires in 2024.

And now journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed Brentford’s asking price amid interest from Manchester United and Tottenham.

Romano reports Brentford have put a £35million price tag on the Spaniard.

He also adds Raya is hoping for a move to a top club.

United and Spurs are both in the market for goalkeepers this summer.

At United, David de Gea has had issues when playing out from the back and sweeping which has left Erik ten Hag wanting a new goalie.

Meanwhile, Hugo Lloris appears to be past his best and has become more error-prone this season.

The two sides were handed a boost in their pursuit of Raya after Brentford reportedly lined up their replacement in the form of Freiburg’s Mark Flekken.
