Match stats
The stats are not always reflective of the tale of a game, but today was not one of those times.
Manchester United dominated Reading tonight, despite not making that domination count until the second half.
Man of the match
There were a number of really impressive performances tonight, particularly from those in red shirts.
Antony, Rashford, Malacia and Casemiro were all brilliant, but it is the latter who picks up the prestigious SunSport man of the match award tonight.
The Brazilian defensive midfielder proved that he was so much more than that tonight, chipping in with two goals.
The first was a dink over the goalkeeper that most strikers would be proud of, before hammering in a shot from distance just a few minutes later to take the game away from Reading.
Not only was his goal scoring vital, but it seems like he never gives the ball away, times his tackles to perfection, and brings a level of gamesmanship and passion that is almost unmatched in the Premier League.
It was a perfect performance from Casemiro in the middle, and that is why he picks up the Man of the match from us tonight.

Into the hat!
“Glory Glory Man United” rings around Old Trafford, and seemingly for good reason…
The Red Devils still have a chance (albeit a slim one) of winning a quadruple this season!
That said you would not bet against them in the FA Cup and the Carabao cup this time around, having one foot in the final of the latter already!
Reading were stubborn in the first half, and could well have taken the lead just before half time, but a second half brilliance from Manchester United’s samba soldiers saw them coast to victory in the end.
A brace from Casemiro saw him double his total number of Manchester United goals within three minutes, before Fred added a third to add insult to injury for Reading.
The Royals did get one back through Mbengue, but a red card for Andy Carroll meant that it was an uphill battle with just ten men…

86. Manchester United 3-1 Reading
A chance for Antony inside the box, but he slips at the vital moment.
That could have been two in two in the FA Cup for him…
84. Manchester United 3-1 Reading
Paul Ince is absolutely going ballistic at Tyrese Fornah, who had a perfect chance to have a shot on De Gea’s goal, but wasted it and looked to set someone else up instead.
If you want to know what he had to say, it looked a little bit like this:
“SHOOT!” followed by a list of expletives I would not dream of typing out on here…
82. Manchester United 3-1 Reading
Garnacho tests Bouzanis this time, as he opens his body up and looks to bend the ball into the far corner.
The keeper doesn’t struggle too much in stopping that one.

United do well to get down the right hand side once more, but Wan-Bissaka’s cross is picked out by Bouzanis.

67. Manchester United 2-0 Reading
Wow.
That dribbling from Marcus Rashford was sensational.
A heel-to-heel flick, followed by a rabona fake on the edge of the box, before finding a cross into the middle which leads to a corner for The Red Devils…
66. Manchester United 2-0 Reading
And it was certainly worth adding that yellow card for Andy Carroll, as he has now picked up a red card.
That is the end of the night for Reading’s striker who wears the number two shirt.
64. Manchester United 2-0 Reading
It is worth adding that Andy Carroll picked up a yellow card for persistent fouling a few minutes ago.
He is understandably frustrated with such minimal time with the ball close to him.

Malacia has a go from the edge of the box this time, and United are really finding their rhythm.
