Man City bus parade DELAYED as fans face wait to catch glimpse of club’s Treble trophy party after Champions League win

MANCHESTER CITY fans have revealed their open-top bus parade has been DELAYED.

Pep Guardiola and Co are preparing to show off their latest trophy after bagging their long-awaited Champions League title – beating Inter Milan 1-0 on Saturday.

But the club have revealed they’ve hit a snag… because of the weather.

A City statement revealed “adverse weather” including “lightning storms” had pushed back their opening of the gates for fans to access the route by 90 MINUTES.

They initially claimed the parade WOULD still start at 6.30pm as scheduled, despite Mother Nature’s intervention.

However, they later added it would have to be pushed back to 7pm, with fans not allowed through the gates until 6.30pm – an hour-and-a-half later than planned.

The statement read: “Due to reports of adverse weather conditions and localised lightning storms, which are expected to reach Manchester city centre shortly, access to the stage show site on Oxford Street will be delayed.

“Gates for the stage show will no longer open at 17:00 and the stage show will not begin at 17:30.

“This decision has been taken in the interests of safety by Manchester City Council in conjunction with the Club and other local stakeholders, who have consulted with meteorologists and the Met Office.

“The trophy parade itself, which will see buses depart from Tonman Street, Deansgate and follow a route through the city centre, is still due to begin on time at 18:30.”

However, they later added: “Due to reports of adverse weather conditions and localised lightning storms, which are expected to reach Manchester city centre shortly, the start of the trophy parade will be delayed until 19:00 (UK).”

Man City are holding the parade after matching rivals Manchester United’s stunning 1999 Treble feat.

Guardiola’s men stormed from behind to clinch the Premier League title after Arsenal had threatened to knock them off their perch.

They then edged past United to snatch the FA Cup.

A week later, Rodri’s goal was the difference as they finally got their hands on the Champions League trophy – the one which had thus far eluded them.

The 1-0 win over Inter Milan in Istanbul sparked incredible scenes as Jack Grealish led the squad in partying for three days – including a trip to Ibiza – before landing back in the UK for the parade.
