LUKE SHAW was given his marching orders in the second half of England’s Euro 2024 qualifier against Italy for two bookings in less than a MINUTE.
The Manchester United defender received his first yellow of the match in the 78th minute for time-wasting in a bid to help the Three Lions maintain their 2-1 lead.
And he found himself heading for an early shower a few seconds later after a clumsy tackle.
Shaw, 27, received his two bookings in a mere 54 SECONDS.
Manager Gareth Southgate had to quickly reshuffle the pack following Shaw’s dismissal.
And it was poor Phil Foden – one of England’s star performers at the World Cup – who was the sacrificial lamb.

The Manchester City winger had only come on in the 69th minute to replace club mate Jack Grealish.
But on 81 minutes, he was all frowns as Southgate hooked him for Kieran Trippier.
Shaw’s sending-off has ruled him out of Sunday’s qualifier against Ukraine at Wembley.
Footy fans were quick to react to Shaws’ early bath, with one saying: “Fix up, Luke Shaw.”

Another said: “Luke Shaw getting 2 yellow cards in 54 seconds – haha.”
And another said: “Luke Shaw can hardly complain.
“Second yellow, within a minute of the first after the referee had already booked Rice and Walker for time-wasting.”
One remarked: “Absolute masterclass from Luke Shaw that.”
Another chimed in: “Luke Shaw. No good.”
Shaw’s dismissal mattered little as Southgate’s troops held out for a massive victory in Naples.
Goals from Declan Rice and Harry Kane saw the Three Lions run out 2-1 winners and claim top spot in Group C.
Mateo Retegui pulled one back, on his debut, on 56 minutes with a neat finish – and then followed long periods of Italy dominance, before Shaw really put his side up against it.
