Liverpool set to rival West Ham in Alex Scott transfer as England youth star continues to shine at Bristol City


LIVERPOOL have entered the race for Bristol City starlet Alex Scott, according to reports.

The teenage wonderkid has impressed in the Championship for the Westcountry side this season.

Scott, 19, recently represented England Under-20s during the international break.

And according to the Mail, Liverpool sent scouts to watch Scott during the Young Lions’ clash with Germany last month.

Head of recruitment Dave Fallows and chief scout Barry Hunter are claimed to have been in attendance, when the Guernsey-born ace played 70 minutes as his side secured a 2-0 victory.

Scott became eighth-tier Guernsey’s youngest ever player aged 16 during the 2019-20 season.

He subsequently signed for Bristol City, establishing himself as a key man for Nigel Pearson’s side while still a teen.

The midfielder has made 86 appearances for the Ashton Gate side thus far, scoring six goals and laying on seven assists.

Back in February he featured as his team lost 3-0 to Manchester City in the FA Cup fifth round, having netted in their previous tie against West Brom.

After the City clash, Pep Guardiola labelled Scott an “unbelievable player”.

To sign Scott, Liverpool will have to see off stern competition.

West Ham have also sent scouts to watch him in recent months.

While Prem rivals Wolves are also keen.

Liverpool are eager to strengthen their midfield this summer, having identified it as an area of weakness.

Jude Bellingham is high up on their list of targets.

And reports in Spain have linked them with Real Madrid ace Aurelien Tchouameni.
