Leicester in talks over Victor Kristiansen transfer with FC Copenhagen demanding £8m for Danish full-back


LEICESTER CITY are reportedly in talks to sign Victor Kristiansen as they try and stay up amid their current injury crisis.

The Foxes are just two points off the relegation zone with pressure mounting on boss Brendan Rodgers.

Victor Kristiansen came through the youth ranks at FC Copenhagen and has already made an impressive 73 first team appearances at just 20 years old

Rodgers’ side have been riddled with injuries especially in defensive positions with Ricardo Pereira, James Justin, Ryan Bertrand and Jonny Evans all currently out.

According to the Telegraph Leicester are already in talks to reinforce their defence with Kristiansen.

The transfer would offer further defensive cover with his experience in the left-back position helping to replace Justin who is expected to be out for the season with a ruptured achilles.

The Danish defender currently plays of FC Copenhagen and has amassed 24 appearances so far this campaign, including six in the Champions League.

It is reported that he would cost around £8million with his club holding him in extremely high regard.

The 20-year-old is considered one of the top Scandinavian talents at the moment, but is yet to make his full international debut for Denmark having represented the u21’s eight times.

Leicester have had a disappointing start to the season and lost 1-0 to Fulham on Tuesday night after a Aleksandar Mitrovic goal.

The Midlands club are currently a far-cry off their title winning campaign of 2015/16 and have only won five league games this season.

They could find themselves in even more trouble if they are unable to keep hold of their star players that are attracting interest from elsewhere.

Midfield pair James Maddison and Youri Tielemans have both been surrounded by swirling rumours of exits from the King Power this January.

Tielemans has had long-term interest from league leaders Arsenal with his contract due to expire at the end of the season.

And Maddison has attracted interest from high flying Newcastle United, but would command a hefty fee with his contract running until June 2024.
