JAMES RODRIGUEZ has had his Olympiacos contract terminated with immediate effect.
The former Real Madrid star, 31, joined the Greek side at the beginning of this season.
But after playing just 23 games for the club, he has now been released.
Fabrizio Romano tweeted: “James Rodriguez has parted ways with Olympiacos. Contract terminated with immediate effect — as Colombian star leaves the club.
“James will now be available as a free agent on the market.”
Rodriguez, who became a global superstar following his six goals for Colombia at the 2014 World Cup, contributed five goals and six assists during his short period in Greece.

Now he is a free agent seeking a new club for the fourth time in three years.
According to AS, Galatasaray and Besiktas have already been linked with a move for the South American forward.
Rodriguez, who has not played since February due to injury, joined Real Madrid immediately after his World Cup heroics nine years ago.
He bagged 37 goals in 123 matches for the Spanish giants, before departing for Everton in 2020.

During his spell at the Bernabeu, he also spent two seasons on loan at Bayern Munich.
A dismal campaign at Goodison Park saw him leave for Qatari side Al-Rayyan in 2021.
But after just 16 appearances in 12 months, he left the Middle East to join Olympiacos.
And while his club career continues to decline, he is still receiving caps for his country.
Rodriguez has now made 90 appearances for Colombia and scored as recently as last month in a 2-2 draw with South Korea.
