LIVERPOOL’S academy manager Alex Inglethorpe is in the frame for the director of football job at Rangers.
His name is now being mentioned after Sam Jewell chose to stay at Brighton.
Rangers want someone to replace Ross Wilson, who left in April.
Inglethorpe, 51, was with Tottenham before Liverpool.
Rangers have had a tough start to the season in Scotland.
Their poor run of form saw manager Michael Beale sacked last month.

They subsequently responded by appointing former Monaco boss Philippe Clement.
Rangers travel to Hearts this afternoon keen to build momentum.
Ahead of the game, Clement said: “I want them to be ambitious to become better.
“It is not that it was the perfect performance, we can do things better than that performance, but you seen that they start to understand more and more of the story of what we want to do.

“It becomes more fluent and also more players stepping in and getting experience in how to move together, what to do with the ball and without it.
“Like this we need to strengthen the team and let the team grow.
“It is always good to get confidence of course but it is never a guarantee for things.
“We need to confirm, do what we have been doing in these last two weeks. We know it is a hard challenge, we had to experience it already less than a week ago against them.
“It is a big game and everybody needs to be ready for that.”
