WREXHAM owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are “like one of us”, says club keeper Kai Calderbank-Park.
The Welsh side clinched promotion to League Two on Saturday as they beat Boreham Wood 3-1 to lift the National League title.
And they have done so under the stewardship of Hollywood actor Reynolds, 46, and TV star McElhenney, 46.
The pair took over the fifth-tier outfit in 2020 and have documented their time at the club through the “Welcome to Wrexham” series.
Now they have helped steer the team back into the Football League for the first time since 2008.
But Calderbank-Park insists that despite their huge global fame, they remain incredibly down-to-earth owners.

Speaking to the Fox Football Podcast, he said: “They’re literally like one of the players.
“It’s actually quite mad. A lot of people don’t realise and a lot of clubs don’t do it, but they’re literally like one of the boys. It’s weird. It doesn’t seem real.
“We were walking around the pitch with them, hugging them and getting selfies with them. It’s quite mad, to be fair.
“You’re just chilling and relaxing and being best mates with these Hollywood superstars which is absolutely outrageous. But they’re just like one of us.”

Calderbank-Park was not a part of the matchday squad for the win over Boreham Wood.
But he got involved in the celebrations as soon as the full-time whistle was blown – with the party being led by former Manchester United keeper Ben Foster.
Calderbank-Park added: “I was literally on the sideline next to the coaches and staff and bench players.
“We just sprinted onto the pitch and got absolutely mauled. People were hugging you and kissing you, taking photos with you.
“People had some people on their shoulders, there were flares going off, it was madness.
“I absolutely stank of alcohol. I was absolutely drenched. Then the gaffer [Phil Parkinson] came in and got absolutely drenched. Everyone was spraying when he came in.”
Referencing Foster specifically, he then said: “He surprised me. He loved a beer, he loved all the beer and alcohol.
“But every single one of them was happy and buzzing. Rightly so, we should be.”
