‘If you can’t beat em, join em’ – Wilson and Trippier troll Anthony Gordon over fight with Newcastle aces after transfer

NEWCASTLE stars Callum Wilson and Kieran Trippier have hilariously trolled new team-mate Anthony Gordon on social media.

Gordon completed a £45million move to the North East from Everton on Sunday, which was confirmed by the Toffees in a blunt 64-word statement.

The 21-year-old joined high-flying Newcastle despite an on-field bust up with a number of Toon stars earlier this season.

Gordon was involved in a heated exchange with Trippier during Everton’s 1-0 loss at St. James’ Park in October.

The row was sparked by Gordon going down softly in the penalty area under a Dan Burn challenge, which left Trippier unimpressed.

He also had an altercation with Nick Pope and Fabian Schar.

But it doesn’t look as though Gordon will be in for an awkward reunion with Eddie Howe’s stars.

Instead, Magpies striker Wilson was quick to hilariously troll Gordon after his move.

Posting pictures to his Instagram story of Gordon’s bust up, Wilson wrote: “If you can’t beat em, join em.”

The striker then added: “Welcome to the Toon brother. Looking forward to get started.”

Trippier meanwhile posted a video to his Insta account of his coming together with Gordon.

England ace Trippier wrote: “Here we go. Welcome bro @anthonygordon.”

Gordon took it in his stride well, commenting on Trippier’s post: “Thanks lad.”

He also left a laughing emoji under the upload, and reposted Wilson’s story with another laughing emoji.
