BEN FOSTER has admitted that he was ‘the most hungover man in the world’ just one week before his return to football.
The 39-year-old goalkeeper came out of retirement earlier this week to sign for National League side Wrexham.
He made his second debut for the Welsh club on Saturday and kept a clean sheet in a 3-0 win over York City.
But just one week prior to his triumphant return he spent a whole day drinking at the Cheltenham Festival.
In a video posted on Rob Ryan Red’s TikTok page after the match, Foster said: “A week ago today it was Gold Cup Friday on Cheltenham and we had an all-dayer.
“So I was the most hungover man in the world last Saturday. So this is a massive contrast to what that was like last week.”

Wrexham’s Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney were both in attendance at the The Racecourse Ground to see Foster return to football at the weekend.
And both were quick to congratulate the goalkeeper at full-time.
Foster told Wrexham Media: “Doddle mate – 3-0, clean sheet, bosh!
“Just met Ryan Reynolds in the tunnel – doesn’t get much better, days don’t get much better than that. Going out for a lovely dinner tonight – lovely Saturday.”

The former Manchester United star previously revealed that he is getting paid “peanuts” to play for the Red Dragons.
But he explained his decision to join the club on his podcast.
He said: “I don’t need much [money] – to be honest, the negotiations took about five minutes… Wages wise, it’s literally peanuts… the part for me is getting the team over the line and getting them promoted.”
